Our Mission

Calla's Critter Rescue was born from a deep, unwavering love for vulnerable cats in desperate need. Founded by Calla Gibson, a passionate and dedicated advocate, our mission is to rescue, heal, and give hope to those who have been forgotten, abandoned, or harmed. Calla pours her heart and soul into this work every single day, taking in cats and kittens battered by cruelty, neglect, or the hardships of life on the streets. She refuses to turn away from suffering, and her relentless dedication drives us to do more—more rescues, more medical care, more chances at happiness for each cat that comes through our doors.

A vital part of our mission is to help control the stray cat populations in our local communities. Unfixed stray cats often breed rapidly, creating overwhelming colonies where suffering is rampant—starvation, fleas, neglect, and risk of being hit by cars are just some of the harsh realities they face. We are dedicated to help Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) efforts to help stabilize these colonies. By trapping, neutering, vaccinating, and returning feral cats, we aim to curb the cycle of endless litters and reduce the suffering of these animals while helping to manage their populations humanely.

We believe every cat deserves a second chance—regardless of their scars, injuries, or the pain they carry inside. Our work requires extensive medical treatment—surgeries, vaccinations, medications, orthopedic care—and countless hours of love and patience to help these creatures recover physically and emotionally. We are committed to providing every cat with the compassion, safety, and dignity they deserve, no matter the cost. But this work cannot be done alone.

Our rescue is powered by an incredible network of foster families, dedicated volunteers, and generous donors who share our vision and believe in the power of second chances. Together, we form a family bound by love and hope—a community united by the belief that no life is beyond saving.
